Tally

Tally is a personal budgeting app. It helps you record spending and income, plan budgets in jars, keep track of upcoming bills, and see how your month is going.

Information We Collect

Everything you enter in Tally — your transactions, jars, budgets, bills, and settings — is stored on your device. Tally has no accounts on the developer's servers and the developer does not receive, store, or sell your financial information. Tally works without an internet connection.

iCloud Sync and Sign in with Apple

Syncing is optional. If you choose to sign in with Apple inside Tally, your data syncs between your own devices through your private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). That data lives in your private iCloud database, which the developer cannot access. Apple may share your first name with the app the first time you sign in; it is stored on your device and used only to greet you. You can turn sync off in Settings.

Subscriptions and Payments

Tally offers an optional subscription, Tally+, with a free trial. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer never sees or stores your payment details; the app only learns from Apple whether you have an active subscription.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Tally schedules reminders on your device, such as a reminder before your free trial ends. These are local notifications and are not sent through any server.

Apple Wallet and Shortcuts

If you set up the optional Shortcuts automation, details of purchases you choose to send from Apple Wallet are passed to Tally on your device. They are not sent anywhere else.

Third-Party Services

Tally does not use advertising services, tracking technologies, analytics platforms, or third-party marketing tools. If Apple services such as iCloud, Sign in with Apple, or the App Store are used, Apple processes data according to Apple's own privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

Tally does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

Exporting and Deleting Your Data

You can export your transactions as a CSV file and delete all of your data at any time from Settings. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device; data synced to iCloud can be removed through your iCloud settings.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be updated if Tally's features or data practices change. Any updated version will be posted on this page.

By using Tally you agree to these terms. Your use of Tally is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.

Using Tally

Tally is a personal tool for tracking spending and planning budgets. It is not financial, tax, or investment advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for your own financial decisions.

Tally+ Subscription and Free Trial

Tally is free to download and use with limited features. A Tally+ subscription unlocks the full app, including unlimited jars, full history, tap-to-pay logging, the bills calendar, the monthly recap, and CSV import and export. Yearly and monthly plans are available, with prices shown in the app in your local currency before you subscribe. The yearly plan may include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; if you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription begins and your Apple ID is charged the plan price.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled, and your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before renewal. You can manage or cancel at any time in your device's Settings under your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple — visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

Limited-time offers are available only for the period shown in the app, and the offered price applies for as long as you stay subscribed to that plan.

Your Data

Your data belongs to you and stays on your device (and in your private iCloud if you turn on sync). You are responsible for keeping any backups you need. See the Privacy Policy above.

Acceptable Use

Do not reverse engineer, resell, or misuse Tally, or use it for anything unlawful.

No Warranty and Limitation of Liability

Tally is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of Tally, including financial decisions made using its figures.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Continued use of Tally after an update means you accept the new terms.
